Ping g15 vs callaway diablo edge

I have it down to Ping G5's and Callaway Big Bertha which is a better club to play with? I hear that they are very similar, and that the Callaway's are better to hit with while the Ping's won't give you the most forgiveness as the Callaways. Any Help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

I am considering to purchase my first set of new irons. I have been playing golf for a while and I need to change my irons. I have tried those two different kinds of irons and the Pings felt better for me. Just wanted to know what do you think about and if you think I should at least try any other models from other brands. I am hitting in the high 80's. Thanks!

if you have good technique and have potential to go much lower, then forget about game improvement set, and go with compact cavity back irons, like cg red. They are not very workable, but not so forgiving either. i would recommend mizuno mp 60 or 57, ping i10, cg red (or cg2-much cheaper), or taylormade tour burner irons.

The brands you list are all Top Shelf.....Go to Golf Digest. They do a good job categorizing irons into three categories based upon the players abilities. For Instance, for someone just starting out, they should be looking at only "Max Game Improvement" Irons, they will be the most forgiving but wont assist i you in "working" a ball....Or your Single Digit Handicap-er would want "Players" irons, which are going to be difficult to hit but have the ability for the golfer to work a ball and they are typically Forged in lieu of cast giving the iron more feel........Once you have decided what cat you are, make a list of irons to try...go to your local shop and hit them all ! Pay close attention to the shafts...Ask to hit several different ones.....You may even seek out the help of your local club fitter...let him assist you..then when you make your purchase, take them back to your fitter and have him custom fit the to you...maybe between $3-$5 per club but well worth it.....Good Luck
